Based on her outstanding European debut, Equestrian Canada (EC) has named Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu of Ottawa, ON the Red Scarf Equestrian Dressage Athlete of the Month for July.
Fraser-Beaulieu and All In (Tango x Damiro), her 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, started the month off at the CDI 4* Fritzens in Austria. After celebrating Canada Day with a Grand Prix finish of fourth place (70.100%) on July 1, they followed up with 12th place (67.675%) in the Grand Prix Freestyle on July 2.
Next, Fraser-Beaulieu and All In moved on to the prestigious CHIO Aachen World Equestrian Festival in Germany. Weeks of travel showed little impact on the pair, who have been competing together since 2013. Both remained concentrated and poised in Aachen, capturing 12th (69.420%) in the Grand Prix on July 19 and ninth (68.216%) in the Grand Prix Special on July 21 against some of the world’s top international dressage competitors.
“I am honored to be named Athlete of the Month for July. Competing in Europe was a first for me, and I was very pleased with my results,” explained Fraser-Beaulieu. “All In had traveled a fair amount in the four weeks we were there, but we handled it so well. I feel competing against the top competitors in the world has prepared me for the big year coming up.”
No strangers to outstanding performances, Fraser-Beaulieu and All In made their major games debut at the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am Games. As part of the Canadian Dressage Team, they helped bring home the Team Silver Medal and set a new Canadian record for the highest dressage team average on record at a major games.
As the Dressage Athlete of the Month for July, Fraser-Beaulieu will be receiving a generous gift certificate from Red Scarf Equestrian that can be used towards the purchase of elegant equestrian luggage, travel bags and accessories that are all made in Canada.
