Diane Creech - Dressage Athlete of the Month September 2017

In recognition of her spectacular results at the CDI-W/3* Dressage at Devon, Equestrian Canada (EC) has named Diane Creech of Caistor Centre, ON the Red Scarf Equestrian Dressage Athlete of the Month for September 2017.

Creech rode Chrevi’s Christo (Chrevi’s Cavallo x Matador), a 14-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding she co-owns with Louise Leatherdale, to a first-place finish in the CDI-W Grand Prix (for GP Freestyle) on Sept. 29, 2017, in Devon, PA. Their score of 70.920% was the duo’s first result above 70% for a Grand Prix.

The following day, Creech and Chrevi’s Christo returned to the Dixon Oval for the CDI-W Grand Prix Freestyle, where they scored 73.150% to claim second place.

“Winning at Devon was a very special moment for Mrs. Louise Leatherdale and myself,” said Creech. “Chrevi’s Christo loved the crowd and the atmosphere in Devon. He performed to his best and I loved the feeling of him listening and showing off at the same time. We are very proud of him.”

Creech has brought Chrevi’s Christo up through the FEI levels over the past four years. This most recent performance marked an incredible first showing at Devon for the bay gelding, while Creech celebrated the 10-year anniversary of her Devon debut.

As the Dressage Athlete of the Month for September, Creech will receive a generous gift certificate from Red Scarf Equestrian that can be used toward the purchase of elegant equestrian luggage, travel bags and accessories that are all made in Canada.
